One minute, I’m in a hospital, about to kick the bucket, and the next, I’m in a weird jungle teeming with ridiculously oversized bugs and demon-like lizard people determined to enslave me. Nope, I didn’t die. And no, sadly, it’s not a hallucination.

I’m pretty sure it’s going to end badly, but then a darkly gorgeous, terrifying man steps through a portal and dissolves the lizard dudes where they stand before carrying me away.

💭Our Thoughts

"Don't know what's happening, but it's as if everything has been condensed into a narrow tunnel, and I already know I'm going to barrel down it no matter where it leads" And our Elise does not disappoint. She barrels right through the fact that she is no longer on Earth - Who needs to process that? The fact that she is now healthy - That's a positive, right? The idea that she is Aruan's mate - okay, that one, she is just going to ignore Come on, she's from Earth! She doesn't have any magic... I love famous last thought, lol Communication People!!! I admit I was proud of Elise for not backing down on the whole "not the mate" stand. She was raised on Earth. She had a life; Sure, it was hell, but it was hers! She wasn't just going to accept what was being served up Until the facts were laid before her Until she believed her heart was betrayed Now she was just looking for a way out And she found one I do think her stubbornness may have played a big part in what happened with the bond. As for Aruan, I am not so sure his kingdom is going to survive this I really liked him. Yes, he has some scary powers, but I felt his heart was in the right place, not only for Elise but for his people. This starts out a bit slow, IMO, but once things get going, hold on tight A lot of court politics and backstabbing - I am still not sure who to trust Some pretty scary moments from our Alpha Prince Aruan I think his mom needs a time-out Flove his sister - she is all kinds of rebellious I really need to know how things turn out. This ended on a to-be-continued, not really a cliffy more of a "WTF are you thinking!" moment
