Book Recommendation ➱ Didn't See You Coming (The Haunting of Pinedale High) Young Adult LGBTQ Contemporary PNR by Gabbi Grey

Didn't See You Coming Didn't See You Coming by Gabbi Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

📖Book Info
Holden and Peyton don't expect much from senior year. He probably won't manage to date any guys. She'll still pine over Juliette, the beautiful and unattainable cheerleader. But when they step between class bullies and Oliver, a super-hot transfer student, their year starts to go off the rails.

As a star football player, Oliver hadn't anticipated trouble. Turns out Pinedale High not only comes with bullies but with new friends, plus the ghost of a Civil War soldier and a shy naked guy in the library. Between the living and the dead, senior year is about to get interesting.

💭Our Thoughts
I figured this would be more or less a YA high school friendship drama with a bit of, IDK, ghostly moments.
I was so wrong.
This has friendships. New and Old
Lots of those awkward teenage life moments
Those insecurities that come with growing up
Bullies
A bit of a mystery
Young love
Family, both blood and those we choose
Some supernatural surprises
and Ghosts

All of which the author wove together in an emotionally engaging tale about 6 teens (yes the ghosts count!) whose lives were slowly changing and together they were finding their footing and making memories

The beginning chapters of the book introduce the characters and set the stage. It did take me a few chapters to get invested but once I was, dinner was delivery.
A diverse and wonderful cast of characters that I found so endearing.
A heartwarming and sweet read that left me with all the fuzzies
