💭Our Thoughts
This was a solid read
A new side to Silverwood's work
We still get our brooding oversized highly possessive alpha heroes
And our strong female leads but this time we are playing in fantasy land
Rorsyd our scrumptious, slightly damaged dragon hero has vowed to end the necromancer line that unalived his best friend during the wars if he senses her even thinking about evil doings. That is why he has watched over her all these years. That is the only reason why. No other. Really.
These two are so cute together, anyway...
Then we have Wynter, who has just come of age and all Hades is breaking loose. Suddenly everyone wants her - some want her dead, some want her captured alive, others want her powers.
When one faction arrives on her abode (their town travels, just one of the cool things in this world) Rorsyd helps her escape
Now they are on a quest to find answers.
Floved! the world-building!
The storyline was for the most part fast-paced with constant action and suspense. There were plenty of twists and OMG moments that kept me white-knocking my Kindle.
Like why the king wants her. Why her parents set up all the "clues" for her
The story was packed with so many unique characters and monsters as well as the ones we all know and love in the fantasy realms
Some of them I absolutely adored!
Others I wanted to see ground into dust
Then we had the relationship between Rorsyd and Wynter
The slow build
The back-and-forth banter
The desire they felt but denied just rolled off the pages
When Rorsyd finally tells Wynter about his fire eyes 😍
Oh, Hades!
This is the first book in the series and a standalone
My understanding is each book will focus on a different couple
Don't worry our couple got their happy ever after but things in the kingdom are still a mess
I am looking forward to the next in series!!
Great Quest Fantasy with all the adventure I look for topped off with Silverwood's special brand of "romance"
