Harper and Joe's story is a high school sweetheart second chance romance
Actually, they bonded when they were toddlers but...
Harper is carrying some heavy ghosts
Her mom, an unexpected loss in her early adult years, and the inability to properly process the events
Leaving her with a fear of losing those she loves; as well as some negative views of herself
Which led to her walking away from Joe
Joe is quite literally the perfect boyfriend he is also the most patient man I have had the pleasure of meeting
There were multiple instances where I wanted to adjust Harper's view of herself but at the same time I was on the outside looking in
Lots of romance, definitely some angst, family- lots of family
as well as personal growth with both the main characters
A solid addition to the series
Don't worry Joe is stubborn and our couple does eventually get their HEA
This does touch on a topic or two that might be tough for some
I had mixed feelings about certain thoughts but to each their own
Would still highly recommend
