⚔️ Book Review & Recommendation ➱ The Forgotten (The Brotherhood of the Sword) Historical Romance by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kinley MacGregor

The Forgotten The Forgotten by Sherrilyn Kenyon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

📖Book Info
A medieval romance where a Highland lady is ordered to marry the man they call the Devil's son—a feral knight so hated his own mother refused to give him a name.

They call him Lord Sin. She's been ordered to make him her husband.

Caledonia MacNeely fights an unfamiliar shiver when she is offered in marriage to the infamous knight others claim is the Devil's own son. A man so hated his own mother refused to even name him.

But Callie fears this feral warrior less for the dark whispers that damn him than for the uncertainty he evokes in her—feelings she cannot name and cannot control.

She is under order of the English marry him or see her clan destroyed.

Bringing the devil into her clan is foolhardy. It may be fatal. But refusing the King is not an option. And the closer Callie gets to the man behind the terrifying legend, the more she wonders if the real danger isn't the monster they warned her about—but the way he's making her feel.

Dark, passionate, and utterly compelling—The Forgotten is a medieval romance for readers who love tortured heroes, brave heroines, and the redemption that comes from being seen for who you truly are.

Perfect for readers who – Tortured heroes called monsters – Arranged marriages with dangerous men – Highland heroines with iron spines – Medieval romance with emotional depth

Previously published under her alter ego Kinley MacGregor, these beloved medieval romances from #1 New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon return—retitled, refreshed, and restored to the author's original vision.

💭Our Thoughts
“S-I-N. As in conceived, born in, and am currently living happily in.”

I was waiting for Sin’s story, as I knew it was going to be an emotionally wild ride.
And it was
There were a lot of challenges for these two to overcome.

The story is packed with
Humor.
Snark
Action and adventure
Plotting
Emotional upheaval, especially when we got a glimpse at Sin’s life
Family
And lest us not forget the slow build of their relationship *sigh*

“Didn’t your mother ever tell you not to tempt the devil unless you were willing to pay his fee?”
Sin was on another level when it came to his fighting skills and his ability to do whatever was necessary to achieve his goals. Yes, that included unaliving without blinking.
He had had any soft emotions, hope, or love beaten right out of him until he was filled with a darkness you could visually see wafting off him.
He had devoted himself to England's king and never questioned his commands.
Until now
Marry, him? And to a Scott no less?

“The woman was mad. Insane! Complete and utterly moonstruck. No one disreageded him when he spoke. No one.”
Except it seems for Callie.
I loved her tenacity. She had no intentions of being anyone's victim, nor was she going to bow down to her enemy.
She knew she must marry Sin to protect her clan and her brother.
However, she saw past Sin’s wall.
She saw the man behind the pain.
As they make their way back to her home, they slowly find a strength in each other.
Can she be the light in Sin’s dark world?

This is a must-read!
