💭Our Thoughts
I dropped into this series with Hayes' story, but it seems they are interconnected standalones that cover a different brother in each book.

For me, this started a bit slow. I had put it down and picked it up a couple of times
I'm glad I'm such a persistent person because once this began moving? It was unstoppable!

Think “Scooby and the gang” and "Knives Out" had a baby - go with it
We get the stalking ex-boyfriend
The psychotic ex-girlfriend
The sweet elderly couple
The greedy land developer
Snow
Cold nights and hot totties
Sexual tension
Second chances
Bees
And more

Hayes is a highly skilled, grumpy 😠 businessman who was so easy to dislike in the beginning.
Man had more secrets than the Pentagon. I really couldn't see him redeeming himself.
I was wrong.
So wrong.
He's nothing but marshmallow fluff.

And my namesake Joy
I want to say she was tough as nails, and she was in so many ways, but she was also vulnerable.
She had been hurt, and she had promised herself she would not fall to Hayes’ charms again.
She tried - how she tried, but that man without a shirt?
Even I would burn under the heat that their back and forth produced.

The author did a fantastic job of pacing their rekindling and providing us with the past events that brought us up to the present day. The suspense was palatable. The cast was endearing! There were some of the sweetest twists, and some not-so-nice ones. Don't worry, though, the greedy get their comeuppance

I am going to have to go back to the other brothers' stories
