Lady Anne and the Haunted Schoolgirl (Lady Anne Addison Mysteries) Historical Paranormal Mystery by Victoria Hamilton Book Tour with Guest Post and Giveaway
Lady Anne and the Haunted Schoolgirl
Lady Anne Addison Mysteries #5
by Victoria Hamilton
Genre: Historical Paranormal Mystery
When a childish prank is linked
to murder, Lady Anne Addison must investigate the death of a young
woman at the hands of a ghoulish fiend . . .
As her
wedding to Lord Darkefell approaches, Lady Anne is summoned by a
local girls’ school to help them with a young student troubled by
ghostly apparitions. She’s quick to respond, and quick to discover
the trickery behind the so-called ghosts. But despite her efforts to
demonstrate to the student that she’s been the victim of a cruel
hoax, the young woman apparently jumps to her death the very next
night. Stunned and saddened by the turn of events, Lady Anne soon
realizes that what she thought was a prank was a dark precursor to
foul play.
Certain that someone closely connected to the
school murdered the young woman, Lady Anne promptly begins
questioning students and staff alike to root out the culprit.
Confronting calculating young classmates, pompous instructors, and
even the shockingly callous relatives of the victim, she still feels
no closer to exposing the killer. Then a pattern emerges suggesting
exactly who was behind the foul deed, and Anne will put her life on
the line to find justice for a young woman who lost her own life too
soon . . .

What’s Up With Victoria Hamilton?
By: (surprise!) Victoria Hamilton
I’m assuming there are many many readers out there who have never heard of me. (I’m always surprised when people have heard of me. Or remember me. LOL)
So I thought… how about I introduce myself? I’m a writer. Your first clue may be that I am on a book promotion blog tour.
But I’ve been a writer for a long time. In fact this December of 2024 I will celebrate 25 years as a published author. Sharp–eyed readers will find that Victoria Hamilton’s first mystery (A Deadly Grind – Vintage Kitchen Mysteries #1 – Berkley) was published in May of 2012. So what gives?
I wrote for many years as Donna Simpson or Donna Lea Simpson. I wrote Regency novels – my first published novel was Lord St. Claire’s Angel – Zebra Books – December 1999. (All have been republished by Beyond the Page Publishing and are available in ebook format only.) I wrote Regency romances until the line closed in 2005, and I then switched to paranormal historical romance, a 3-book werewolf series set in Germany 1796. (Someday there will be a 4th!) I then moved on to a historical romance mystery series with Sourcebooks, Lady Anne and the Howl in the Dark. Things didn’t work out with them all that well; Sourcebooks insisted on marketing the series as a romance series and kept pushing me to add more romance, and more sex! Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I had pictured the series as mystery, and wanted to keep it focused on that. We parted ways.
And I was free… free to reinvent myself as the mystery author I always wanted to be, and thus… Victoria Hamilton was born. I found my dream agent (hello and thank you Jessica Faust of BookEnds Literary!) and started writing the Vintage Kitchen Mysteries, then the Merry Muffin Mysteries, with a brief stint writing as Amanda Cooper the Teapot Collector Mysteries.
I then got the rights back to all of my Regency romances and started to co-publish them with Beyond the Page. At that point it seemed like the right thing to do to make the leap… I got the rights back to my Lady Anne Addison historical mystery series, and we published them under my mystery author name, Victoria Hamilton. The three-book series did so well that I decided to write a 4th, and now we have a 5th, the current release, Lady Anne and the Haunted Schoolgirl. (Oh… and there is another historical mystery two-book series: A Gentlewoman’s Guide to Murder and Some Touch of Madness. I’m mighty proud of them.)
It’s been a heck of a ride so far… my lifelong goal was to become a published author, and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me every day to accomplish again and again that goal.
I hope you’ll look into my other mysteries, and be warned… there is more to come! Double or Muffin Book #7 of my Merry Muffin Mysteries will come out in early 2025, but first, this fall Vintage Kitchen Mysteries #12, Cat Got Your Tongs, will come out.
Then I get to work on the NEXT Lady Anne, Lady Anne and the Winter Witch, Lady Anne #6, for 2025. So much writing to get to! So off I go…
Happy Reading, everyone!
Victoria Hamilton is the national bestselling author of four mystery series: the Vintage Kitchen Mysteries; the Merry Muffin Mysteries; the Lady Anne Addison Historical Mysteries and the Gentlewoman’s Guide Regency Mysteries.
Victoria loves to read, especially mystery novels, and enjoys good tea and cheap wine, the company of friends, and has a newfound appreciation for opera. She enjoys crocheting and beading, but a good book can tempt her away from almost anything… except writing!
She now happily writes about vintage kitchen collecting, muffin baking and dead bodies – among other mysterious topics - for publisher Beyond the Page.
