My rating: 4 of 5 stars

📘Book Info
Bound by fate to the man she's sworn to defy.

Revered for her magical ability, Naya is the most treasured omega in her parents' empire. Her birth marked the arrival of peace in the land, and her people eagerly await her reign.

But Naya is haunted by a tragedy.

Finding her mate is the key to banishing the shadows plaguing her. Yet no matter how hard she searches, Naya can’t find the one who ignites the profound attraction her mate is destined to arouse.

Then one night, she is stolen.

Akoro, an alpha dominated by vengeance and violence, takes her to a distant land where her powers are useless. A cold-hearted king, he demands she help him conquer her empire.

Naya vows to safeguard her people, but she is horrified when Akoro awakens the primal craving that confirms he is her true mate.

Devastated, she endures his cruelty and growing obsession with her, certain they could never be together.

But Akoro has scars of his own.

His secrets might help her oppose him, but as she digs deeper, the desire between them erupts into an irresistible, heated torment.

Scars of His Wrath is book 1 in a steamy dark romance series set in a dark fantasy world. This book ends in a cliffhanger and contains dark romance situations.

💭Our Thoughts
"Their attraction was a powerful one that should have been the greatest love known"

Akoro is determined to take revenge on those who have brought death and destruction to his lands,
and save his people
He has a plan that will ensure his success. Despite his advisors' opposition, he abducts the highly revered princess.
There are no lines he will not cross to get the information he needs from her.
His people come first and no kindness will be shown to the enemy

Naya is an omega and the future queen of her people.
She is a fierce fighter and a highly skilled magic wielder.
She has spent years searching for her true mate in the hopes he will bring balance to her magic
Though it looks as though it was not meant to be
Her parents have had enough and are arranging for her betrothal
That is until she finds herself abducted and in the hands of Akoro
Naya is determined to stay strong and gather information to aid her people
However, as her captivity progresses it is not looking very good for her.
Can she survive long enough to get word to her father?
Can she fight her omega side and stay true to her people?

Akoro is an absolute idjiot.
The healer, however, I like him.
I know he did it thinking it was the right thing to do; but would she have faired better if he hadn't?
Naya was such a strong heroine. Yes, there were times of short panic. But after her internal breakdown, she straightened her crown and stood strong.
I have so many questions about the white magic. I also want to know how the magic and the omegas work in Akoro's world.
I also wonder if he is right and the King has something to do with it.

This has some darker moments. Great world-building. The vast differences between the worlds. How they wield their magic and the way it is used to craft things. The omegas.
This is packed with little breadcrumb trails, which is what kept me so engaged.
Not enough to get the whole picture but plenty that lead to what might be.

This ends on a to-be-continued
I am looking forward to book two
