And Drew knows. He knows he likes men—Holden in particular. He knows he’ll have to make the first move. And when he and Holden are together, Drew knows nothing has ever been more right. The problem is that Holden doesn’t know it too.
Holden knows he isn’t good enough for Drew—an ex-con is never a good bet--but that doesn’t stop him from wanting him. He craves Drew more than he wants to breathe, and that’s the problem. Between his dubious past and all the complicated family issues, Holden is afraid of hurting Drew. And that’s the one thing he never wants to do.
When two strong souls collide, the stars align and something right is born. But can love survive the storms, or will something right turn into what could have been?
This had all the fun wrapped in all the feels
Drew has been crushing on Holden since...
Well forever
So when Drew gets the chance to work, daily mind you, at Holden's grandma's hardware store you can bet your paycheck he's not going to waste the opportunity
There is a wee problem though
Holden is...
Well, holding out
At first, Drew came across as a bit irresponsible, slightly sarcastic even.
As the story progresses I found it was his way of protecting himself
Holden, however, is somewhat the opposite. When it comes to his family and his responsibilities they come first. Though sarcasm is strong with this one as well
When Drew begins to drop very blatant hints that he is attracted to Holden he does his best not to acknowledge him
Firstly there is his dark past.
What can he offer such a ray of sunshine?
Not to mention him being his brother's betrothed little brother
Yeah, that wouldn't go over very well
However, the draw is beginning to be too much and Drew shows no signs of stopping and Holden is no saint
It took me a few chapters to get into the story and connect with the characters, however, once I found that sweet spot I was a goner
Plenty of steam between Drew and Holden. They did fit together perfectly it just took a bit for them to figure it out
This had all the banter and steam dotted with some angst and personal growth.
