Book Info
From the outside looking in, socialite Lexi North’s life looks decadently perfect, right down to her diamond-dusted nails. But you know what they say about glass houses... When one night goes horribly wrong--with the whole world watching--she’s challenged to swap lives with the salty, albeit gorgeous, man she rear-ends with her car.
For mechanic Evan Bailey, life is definitely not a party. There’s no “daddy’s credit card” for fixing up his family’s auto shop, raising his too-precocious-for-anyone’s-good niece, and getting his accounts from deep in the red to black. Which is precisely when opportunity--and celebutante Lexi North--smashes into his life.
But what should have been an easy bet gets a whole lot harder with the inexplicably hot chemistry between them. Now the only way for either of them to get what they want is to go for broke...
💭Our Thoughts
"You know that moment you really see someone?"
She was the classic example of a spoiled rich socialite
He was your classic white-collar citizen raising his niece
A young handful (CeCe) was about to change their lives forever
In more ways than just financial status and location
I admit I was only a couple of chapters in - Could not stand our self-absorbed princess - I almost set this as DNF - I'm glad I picked it back up
Seems that the introduction was for drama's sake and to set the tone
North was beyond clueless, self-centered, oblivious, rude, entitled...
Yeah I could go on - First impressions and all -
But as the story progressed she stole my heart
As she shed her entitlement
As she embraced herself
As she fell for the stubborn penny pincher
Then we had stick in the mud, overcompensating, never cracked a smile or found a penny he didn't like (not knocking being thrifty but you'll see) Evan
So what happens when you find yourself on the other side of the fence?
In greener pastures?
Or perhaps, like our princess, in the pattie pile?
These two are about to find out
If you are looking for a fun, slow build, high tension, steamy, feel-good read with lots of character growth then don't pass this one up
Once this gets going I couldn't help but root them both on
Their banter - Their obvious chemistry - They balanced each other out
CeCe was a handful
I would have liked to know how things went with Ce Ce, the garage, and a couple of other events and how they wrapped up but overall just a great read
