This is one of those reads that you will find yourself wanting to slow down to make it last longer while at the same time devouring every moment
Leon - I'm a bit on the fence about him. I can see and understand some of his actions from his perspective
How he goes all caveman when it comes to providing and protecting "his woman" - the world is a dangerous place
But hellllooooo
Being a provider also means listening, noticing the little tells that might not be so obvious
She's been dropping hints left and right but you're so focused on your manipulation that you are not getting them
Violet is solid. She is focused and she carries the weight of so much guilt on her shoulders
Guilt at what her mom has and still is sacrificing for her
For her health, her future
Now she's carrying even more to protect the one person who has always been there for her
She is slowly suffocating under that burden
However, I 100% approve of her outlet
Nothing wrong with wanting it and she has no shame in the taking
I have to admit the moments were kind of hot
This was intense from beginning to end
The known and the unknown left so much tension between the characters - I could feel it
Elliott - you just proved with that stunt why you didn't deserve to be a partner.
But I have a feeling you will learn.
And along with you sadly, the innocent will also pay for your greed

Charmaine Pauls was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She obtained a degree in Communication at the University of Potchefstroom and followed a diverse career path in journalism, public relations, advertising, communication, and brand marketing. Her writing has always been an integral part of her professions.
When she moved to Chile with her French husband, she started writing full-time. She has been publishing novels and short stories since 2011. Charmaine currently lives in Montpellier, France with her family. Their household is a lively mix of Afrikaans, English, French, and Spanish.
