In this devotional, you will learn what it takes to shift your mindset, first and foremost. Can you, for those who don't know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I’ve wrote in a journal for more than half of my life and writing has always been my greatest form of expression! Writing was always an escape for me! A way to vent about life’s day-to-day successes and struggles, but also a way for me to validate my own thoughts and feelings. I started blogging over 5 years ago and have been told by a numerous amount of people that my writing not only motivates them to live better lives, but they are also inspired to bring their best selves!
What are some of your pet peeves?
Repeating myself more than once. It’s enough to make me want to pull my hair out of my head LOL
If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day?
If today was my last day on Earth, I most certainly would want to be surrounded by my family at the beach! The beach is home to me and my family means the world to me, so to have this would be the best! A margarita in hand would be the cherry on top!
Who is your hero and why?
My mother is my hero because she’s had to endure a pretty tough life and she came out of all the hurdles wearing a genuine smile on her face every day! No matter the challenge, she always triumphs!
What are you passionate about these days?
I’m passionate about living out God’s purpose for my life…whatever that looks like! So far it has everything to do with serving others and being my true and authentic self and I’m loving it! There’s no better feeling than knowing you are making a huge impact on someone’s life for the better!
What do you do to unwind and relax?
If I’m at home, I love to curl up on my favorite spot on the couch with a glass of wine and my husband sitting right next to watching a good movie!
How to find time to write as a parent?
I create it because we most certainly won’t be granted any more LOL! I usually will write an hour before my daughter goes to bed and do that for about 2-3 hours. We have our time together and then I have my time at the end of the day.
Describe yourself in 5 words or less!
Loving, Driven, Compassionate, Empathetic, and Authoritative.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Funny enough, I didn’t consider myself a writer until a few years ago even though I’ve been doing it the majority of my life. I guess because my line of work takes up so much of my time that what I do for me I wouldn’t have normally addressed myself that way until recently.
What inspired you to write this book?
I was on a spiritual fast the beginning of the year and was lead to write this book. Naturally, I love to help others and at this particular time I was seeking wisdom and focusing on my life’s purpose and as I learned, I wanted to teach others as well and that instructed this kind of book being my first.
What can we expect from you in the future?
More books for sure! I’ve got the bug! I will have 3 more to come out this year! 2 being the ending books to this trilogy series. Also, I hope to start doing more speaking engagements, expanding my brand and ministry and starting my own Life Coaching business as well.
Who designed your book covers?
I hired a book interior designer on Fiverrr and she was phenomenal! I will definitely work with her again!
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Not a thing!
Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
I learned that I have more in me than I thought and that I truly can do anything I put my mind to! It’s cliché, but if you believe in yourself, have faith, and trust God, you truly can!
How did you come up with the name of this book?
When I think of transforming your life, I think of stages that have to be taken to do so! The first stage being a Mindset Shift…we have to shift before we can transform.
Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
If you want to live your best authentic life being all God wants you to be, it starts with your mindset and your belief in yourself. This devotional book definitely speaks to your heart, mind and soul and encourages you to not give up on yourself or dreams and not to become complacent in life by settling! Reading this book makes you want to be all that you’ve ever dreamed of knowing the sky is not the limit, but there simply are NO limits and you can be all that you want in this life.
Have you written any other books that are not published?
I’m currently finishing up my second book now!
Do you see writing as a career?
YES, and I absolutely love it!
Do you write one book at a time or do you have several going at a time?
One at a time.
Pen or typewriter or computer?
Computer
What made you want to become an author and do you feel it was the right decision?
Because I feel that my encouragement is needed in today’s world and the best way for people to grab hold of that is through a book!
What makes a good story?
Details set the scene up for me. Include it all.
Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
The best way to represent yourself and your work is to be original. The right people will gravitate and that’s what matters.
If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Keep going. You’ve got something special!
How long on average does it take you to write a book?
6-8 weeks
