Description
They hunted me down.
Six demons who believe I can cast a spell to lift a blood curse.
But I’m merely a clairvoyant who can summon the dead.
Being thrust into the world of demons is terrifying, intimidating, alluring…
I’m in over my head, and they know it…
Our Thoughts 💭
I'm fricking fuming 😡I knew it - I'm not sure who I want to get my hands on first!!
This is the first in the series and it is written in a way that places the reader in the same confused yet curious state as the heroine
Throughout the story, nothing is verifiable - each page turn brings another small piece of the puzzle - but never enough to draw solid conclusions
We (I'm talking reader and heroine) know we are missing some important pieces but the unknown is a call we can not deny - Curiosity and all that
Frustrated, scared, angry, unsure of what our next move should be - We do the best we can accepting each new task and hoping for the best
Yeah our temper gets in the way occasionally as does our libido but hey these are some fine specimens
We duck up a few times - But we don't give up
(I hope I explained that right)
I loved and loathed the watchers
Each one rubbed me wrong at one time or another while also offering me a substantial piece of the picture as well as lessons that gave me insight into who I truly am
Until that last moment...
There is a lot of things going on in this first book
And I believe the intent was to leave the reader a touch confused - as our heroine is -
and it worked and I want my revenge
This was a solid start to the series
Just enough facts to give us a hazy picture - to keep me engaged and on edge - all the twists, the multiple breadcrumb trails, the betrayals
I am moving on to book two
Lmao - I just reread this and I sound like it's my story 🤣

Sinful Hands by T.L. Smith
So what happens when insanity finds itself confronted with the obsession?
Oh, My Gawd!!!
I can't breathe
Sinful Hands by T.L. Smith
Description
Dark romance from a USA Today bestselling author: As soon as Lucas sets his sights on Chanel, he’s overcome with a burning desire he can’t ignore — and he’ll do absolutely anything to track her down and claim her for himself.
Our Thoughts 💭
No SpoilersSo what happens when insanity finds itself confronted with the obsession?
Oh, My Gawd!!!
I can't breathe
There is a scene that occurred - a very subtle clue - leading me to believe this was a plausible outcome
But I thought things had changed
I want to scream!!!
This is one of those devious and twisted romance - heavy on the mind games - lots of crimson speckling - and no flicks given
Definitely for those of us who enjoy the darker villains blended with a storyline that at times stretches the rules of plausibility
Chanel is one tough lady
She did and does what is necessary to care for her brother
She backs down to no one
Definitely underestimate her at your peril
Lucas is just plain insane and I am sooooooo mad at him
This ends on a hellaciously heart breaking breath-stealing cliffy

River of Shadows by Karina Halle
Such a new take on the underworld and its politics
Vivid constructed - I was there
And the cast?
Five star
Even the secondary characters play important roles
Halle built a solid foundation for the series without leaving me feeling overwhelmed or bogged down - yes there is a lot of descriptors but they are fun
Hannah sacrifices herself to save her father - Naturally Death finds her a much more desirable prisoner
There is a fire and fight in her that entertains him on so many levels
But Hannah has some surprises of her own - most she wasn't even aware of
IMO Death is so misunderstood - He is only doing his job - I think people forget that - don't judge till you meet him -
Sure he has to torture, maim and stir up chaos occasionally
But fear keeps the vermin and the old gods in check
Hannah is just a blast. She's all spit and vigor yet soft and needy (a contradiction I know)
I'm on the fence with Rasmus I think Hannah's original glimpse into him might be accurate and not just a passing moment
As far as pops goes? Not really enough information yet to put together a fair opinion of what he was really doing in that realm
Oh and the ex? There are a few clues that lead me to believe redheads are a descendant problem 😅 you'll see
This ends on a to be continued - it is part of a series folks

A Fated Mates Sci-fi Romance
When you’ve f**ked up the known universe it tends to ruin things.
My name is Charlotte and a big green mean machine has captured me. Okay, he’s an orc but he has spikes on his biceps, which is plain wrong.

The Player in New Zealand by Liz Alden
Claire needs this job and she isn't one to back down when she believes she is right even when her chances of survival are not that good
Things go from confrontational to full contact to wo/man down
As far as first impressions go - this one leaves its mark
This is a slow build sort of finding oneself amid life's turmoils romance.
Both our characters are at crossroads in their lives
Claire is waiting out (it will make sense when you read it ) her past and while doing so has been presented with a unique chance at seeing her/the world a bit differently (?)
Tane's glory days have come to a close.
Currently, he is using alcohol as a way to "process and accept" all the changes in his life
Not quite working the way he thought it would
After their first clash (?) Claire and Tane find themselves building a sort of "bond-ship" as they maneuver their way through life's storms - always good to swim with a buddy
That friendship slowly blossoms into more
This was an easy to follow storyline with some hilarious moments, light angst, some great personal growth rounded out with the sweetest self-discoveries and of course romance
Beautiful world-building
Solid characters, both main and supporting, that I easily connected with
I did wish there was a bit more detail and/or background when it came to certain issues and scenes but that is a "me" thing
760 Miles by A.E. Lister
No good deed and all that jazz
Jimmy found himself drawn to the kid at first sight - Could have been his inept attempt to garner some coin or his destitute appearance
Definitely wasn't his smart mouth and smexy backside
Either way, Oscar called to something in him he wasn't aware he desired -
The chance to care for another
It is an almost insta attraction between these two - Though Jimmy fights it a bit more than Oscar. Jimmy rationalizes quite a bit - He has never found himself so drawn to another male
Oscar IMO welcomed the attention, wearily in the beginning but when you have nothing left to lose...
760 Miles is a sweet western romance that offers the reader a little bit of everything
Lots of action - Humor - Angst - Self-discovery - Smexy moments and a great storyline that entertains and two characters that will leave their mark
The Player in New Zealand by Liz Alden
Description
That surly ex-rugby player making a ruckus in the dark corner of the bar I work at? Yeah, I try to avoid him. Too bad he’s my boss.
The fourth in the Love and Wanderlust series, The Player in New Zealand is two grumps having a meet-hate before a fake date pushes them together. This standalone contemporary romance is perfect for everyone who wants their wanderlust to continue into the happily-ever-after.
Our Thoughts 💭

760 Miles by A.E. Lister
Description:
How far would you travel for one man?
The very last thing Jimmy Downing needed was a skinny traveling partner who acted half his age with a chip on his shoulder and no idea how the real world worked. Because Jimmy had a lot of experience with the world and he wanted no part of it anymore.
Our Thoughts 💭
