My Heart to Remember is an emotional, romantic suspense standalone filled with twists and turns. It does have a happily-ever-after.
💭Our Thoughts
I had a suspicion right from the opening which sister was still alive, didnt detract from the suspense though.
I also had the occasional moment of doubt that I could be wrong, but the pieces just didnt fit the alternative narrative.
Imagine:
Waking up not knowing who you are.
Not remembering the events that brought you to this moment.
Having people identify you, expecting you to just believe them
Being told a certain man is your soul's other half, despite it not feeling right
Knowing that something is wrong with all the facts being presented to you
Knowing the pieces just don't fit!
I was angry at everyone withholding information, stating they felt it was in the best interest of the surviving sister.
She might have put the pieces together faster if everyone had been on the same page
I felt for her.
She just wanted to find the truth and get her memory back.
Who was she?
Why did this happen?
Add to that living nightmare, having two men who claim to love her, but only one who makes her heart beat faster
This has angst.
Underlying tension that you feel throughout the read
A little bit of mystery and suspense
And a sort of love triangle
Overall, it was a solid read
I was a bit mad at the love interests.
Nothing like putting a little pressure on.
And then, once again, deciding for her what is best - Dude, pull your head out!
