But when he fills in for his injured friend at a New York gig, he goes to meet the gig's contact at his NYC brownstone. A body falls from the brownstone balcony and the place explodes with gun fire. Boone barely escapes but uncovers a sinister plot to perform a rare Paganini piece that summons the Devil to trap Baba Yaga and destroy modern-day New York City.
He then finds himself on a race through time, to capture the cursed melody. Along the way, a Romani immortal, steampunk vampires and Baba Yaga set the stage for war, and Boone shall have to risk death for redemption. All Boone wants is to keep a promise to a friend. The same friend, he almost killed last Sunday during a joust.

💭Our Thoughts
This was a fast-paced quirky supernatural action-packed read that had me bouncing from laughter to loud gasps to wanting to knock some sense into certain someone(s)
I enjoyed the world-building, from the various cities and portals and dimensions to the mythological beings and lore that were spectacularly brought to life.
Well-crafted characters with vivid personalities. Each brings their own "flavor" to the story.
Boone is one of those characters that you can't help but root for.
A lot is going on in this story and it moves at a very fast pace. Dont fret though
It took me a few chapters to figure out who was who, where was where, and why it was happening but eventually all the bits and pieces began to fall into place and I found myself traveling along for one of the wildest and entertaining rides I've had in a long time
A well-written read with enchanting characters and an engaging storyline that promises to captivate its readers
I started out with an advanced reader copy then found both the audiobook and eBook on Kobo. I then switched between the audio and ebook. The audio just added to the overall enchantment.
