Challenged by the Single Dad Challenged by the Single Dad by Whitley Cox

📖Book Info
What happens when the island prince no longer trusts his instincts, and makes an enemy of the one woman who can make him whole again?
Welcome to San Camanez, a humble, peaceful little island in the Puget Sound and home to the McEvoy brothers. Four sexy single fathers—and one childless snack with a beard—who run a brewpub on the beach, raise their kids together, and hope to find love and happiness in the chaos that is life. This is Dom’s story ...
Single Dad and bartender Dom McEvoy is a workaholic. Despite hardly seeing his kid, he doesn’t trust anybody else to run the restaurant. Not after what happened with his last hire. It’s just easier if he does it all himself. But when his brothers out-vote him and hire a new bartender—who is better than Dom at everything—his temper flares and he instantly wants her gone.
Chloe Voss knows she can’t keep running from the pain of her past. She’s been a nomad for too long. It’s time to set down some roots—even if they’re shallow. So when she gets the job offer at the McEvoy brothers’ restaurant, things finally look as if they’re falling into place. Too bad her boss hates her. Dom challenges her at every turn. He’s grumpy, unpredictable and cold. Whatever, it’s only a job.
Until it’s not.
Until these enemies turn into lovers and their unbridled attraction threatens to blow up the business.
When a winter storm ransacks the island, leaving Chloe abandoned and in danger, Dom will do whatever it takes to save her, even if that means putting his own life at risk

💭Our Thoughts
Tissues and Teddy Read

Dom is struggling to balance fatherhood and his obsessive need to be in constant control of his side of the business.
Not just overseeing but micromanaging.
The brothers have decided to bring in some help, hire a new bartender, and let Dom step back and spend more time at home.
Some time with his son.
Sounds simple right?
Nope, not for Dom

Enter Chloe
She has her own nightmare weighing down her heart but she is tired of running and is ready to settle.
What better place than by the water, a chance to heal? And she has mad bartending skills. Only the grumpasorous who owns the bar is going to be a tough nut to crack

I started this series here with this couple and devoured their story
It takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone's business
A fun and diverse cast of characters that instantly stole my heart
Close family ties both blood and chosen.
This was a big factor IMO that helped our two characters heal from their sense of guilt and loss
That and Mother Nature's intervention lol

The chemistry between them was incredible.
The attraction was there but like opposing magnets, they kept pushing the other away
It took a little outside help to get them to let their guard down
The way Dom handled the knowledge of Chloe's past
How he helped her see it wasn't her fault.
Her ex and his "family" were a special kind of ick 😠.
A great later-in-life romance with lots of feels and personal growth.
I fracking loved Dom's kid. He was so full of love. How could you not be happy around him?
I will be going back to get the other brothers' stories 😊
OMG, and the knitting, sewing, crafting, and gossiping group of "grandmas" was just the best!
