As his go-to assistant, I remembered everyone’s coffee orders, but somehow, my own birthday got lost in his busy CEO schedule. Sending flowers to myself? Not my proudest moment, but sometimes, a girl just has to take matters into her own hands.
That low point hit me like a bucket of ice water—it was painfully clear I was just another task on his never-ending to-do list. So, I slapped down my resignation—it felt like a breakup, minus the dramatic tears and squabbles over who gets the goldfish. I was ready to walk away and reclaim my life, chart my own course.
