Hidden pasts don't stay in the shadows forever. What's done in the dark has to come to light.

Shadows of the Past

Journeys Book 1

by Drako

Genre: LGBTQ M/M Fantasy Romance

Landon Auberon seems like a normal black gay male. He's attractive and funny, a bit of a smartass, and is out and proud. He's got a boyfriend, a girl best friend, and a kid almost like a younger brother to him. But he's far more than he seems. A being from a magical race forced into the mortal life, his past isn't too far behind him. His king has returned to call on his service, and old foes and new team up to break up the monotony of his mortal existence. Can Landon protect everyone he loves and keep them around as what was donne in the dark comes to light?

What inspired you to write this book?

It was somewhat therapeutic, helping me to work through some old issues.

What can we expect from you in the future?

More queer stories, more mythology being twisted and made my own, lots of magic and supernatural activity. Maybe another poetry book too

Tell us about your main characters- what makes them tick?

Landon-he’s the most secure/insecure person ever. He has trust issues and low patience for stupidity. He only seems to have patience with Brian but with everyone else, including the main love interest Kevin, he’s a smartass at best and outright mean at worst.

Kevin-he’s fresh out of the closet and not even fully out. He’s adjusting to being in a gay relationship and makes some mistakes along the way.

Damien-he’s catty, arrogant, but powerful. He’s a king after all. Seems playful until he wants to be serious.

Brian-teenage angst….ok I can explain a bit more. He’s going through changes like any teenager, but since he’s not entirely human, it’s a bit more extreme. He battles depression and has some trouble really voicing what he wants or needs. Doesn’t act much like his dad yet (Damien)

Who designed your book covers?

I designed this cover. I have a designated cover designer for most of my other books. I did the first book in both my Dragon Hunters series and Coven series, but left the others to my cover designer.

If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Jacob Anderson (the lead from the Interview with the Vampire tv series) would be perfect for Landon

Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

This is a bit different from my first two series.

Have you written any other books that are not published?

Yes, there is a book fully written that is the seventh book in my original Dragon Hunters series. However, there are parts of it that just don’t feel like the direction I want that series to go. I’m debating on a full rewrite or just some tweaks and changes here and there to make it flow

What did you edit out of this book?

I took out a retaliation cheating angle. I didn’t like it, it added mess and made the character look like a dick when the truth of the cheating issue came out.
