βIf you are a sucker for an intense, growly, over-protective, gruff biker with a heart of gold, even though he doesn't realize it, then this is the book for you!β

Nora Ellis never met a biker, until the night Noah βYakβ Spencer came to her rescue after her disastrous bachelorette party. It doesnβt take long for her to see the heart of gold beneath his tough-guy exterior. When Nora finds out her ex-fiancΓ© was cheating, Yak is there. When a dire health crisis threatens to tear her life apart, Yak helps her keep it together. Even though the timing is truly lousy, Nora quickly finds herself longing for more than friendship with the sexy bikerβ¦
For Noraβs sake, Yak needs to keep his distance. Sure, sheβs everything he has ever wantedβgorgeous, smart, and tough as nails. But with the problems sheβs facing, Yak decides she's untouchable. Until Nora hints she wants more.
Nora doesnβt belong in his world. Her involvement could get her killed. Still, Yak canβt stay away. As matters with the club become deadly, how far will he go to protect the woman he has grown to love?

βRight. I appreciate you insisting someone go with me today.β
βNo need to thank me for that, Nora.β
I tilted my head as I quirked my lips. βMaybe not, but it was supposed to be Mia going with me βobviously that flew out the windowβ and I thought I could handle it alone. Making Trixie go with me was a Godsend, so thank you.β
He put the sliced bananas in a Ziploc bag, sealed it, and shoved it into the freezer. His expression appeared wary as he stalked toward me.
At the edge of the counter, he stopped and crossed his arms on his t-shirt clad chest. βYouβre welcome. You could have called instead of traipsing over here.β
My insides froze. This had become awkward. Awkwardness between me and Yak was a first - and that was saying something given how we met and everything thereafter.
I nodded. βYouβre right. Iβm sorry to bother you.β
His lips pressed into a thin line while his eyes closed and he shook his head. On an exhale he looked me in the eyes. βItβs not that youβre a bother, Nora.β
My eyes widened. βDoesnβt sound that way.β
A ghost of a grin flitted across his face. βYouβre a temptation, princess. One I have to resist.β
A swooping sensation filled my belly. Maybe Trixie was right.
βWhy?β
His brow arched. βWhy what?β
βWhy do you have to resist?β
He shook his head. βNora, youβreβ¦ you want things I canβt give you. Hell, you deserve better than me.β
I moved forward so we were a foot apart. Being this close, I had to tilt my head up to keep eye contact. βBetter than you? What does that mean?β
βYou deserve the man who can give you stability, marriage, kids, and all that shit.β
I scoffed. βAfter the past week, Iβm not looking for marriage, and given my lousy judgment, Iβm pretty sure stability is overrated.β
His hand dragged down his cheek stubble. βDonβt let that asshole do that to you, Nora. Heβs a moron, and out there is a man who will absolutely do right by you.β
Part of me wanted to ask if he was that man, but I knew heβd say no. Which of course made me think he could absolutely be that man.
I glanced to the side and back to him. βSometimes, itβs good to give in to temptation.β
He chuckled. βWoman, I manage a place that is all about temptation. Itβs better to resist it.β
I nodded. βYouβre right. We shouldnβt.β
He licked his bottom lip before he bit it while he nodded.
βBut I really want to,β I muttered.
βNora,β he admonished, chuckling.
I stepped into his personal space and put a hand on his shoulder. βThanks, Noah. For everything.β I leaned up to kiss the side of his lips. Except Yak turned and our lips locked together fully.
I pulled back, my mouth opening to apologize, but Yakβs arms wrapped around me and he kissed me outright.
