BLURB:

Baseball star Spencer Crews knows April can’t stand him, yet his proposition of temporarily living together is the biggest curveball of his career…

Making a certain kind of video with my enemy (who happens to be everyone’s favorite baseball player) was not my proudest moment, but I blame the alcohol for Spencer’s smirk three seconds before our clothes ended up on the floor for our one-night mistake. He said he deleted the video, which is why I didn’t expect the jerk to interrupt my date a few months later to break the news that we have a problem. His solution is to avoid the press by staying at his lake house to hide away and I stupidly agree.

The next thing I know, I have two tiny eyes staring at me.

Yep, I discover Spencer is a hot single dad to a cute little girl secret. And that’s not the only twist, because the small town by the lake seems to bring us closer; all of us. Spencer and my arguments fizzle out, and our looks grow longer. We talk like it matters and study one another’s bodies. It feels like we are in our own little world. And in the end, I’m not sure if it’s Spencer or me who’s trying to convince us we may just be worth the chance…

Spencer and April bring the banter and steam in this enemies to lovers, single dad, and completely swoon worthy forced proximity story. Worth the Chance is book two in the standalone interconnected Lake Spark series. For lovers of small-town romance with a touch of sports.

Spencer is one of Baseball's star players but he has still been able to keep his personal life separate. When a night of slight overindulgence lands April in his path things get a little hot and a whole lot out of control.
An accidental turned-intentional video of their evening of indulgence possibly falls into the wrong hands forcing Spencer to bring April into his home.
Can he trust her to keep his secret?
Can she stay under the same roof as her nemesis?

A little tension
A little bickering
A whole lot of smexy

I admit at first Spencer got my hackles up but it was all a facade
April was just as guarded with the real her
But as we progressed the real April and Spencer slowly took front and center
I think the wee little Hadley had a whole lot to do with that
Trapped in their own little bubble of let's pretend things slowly progress from enemies to playing house
April sees the softer side of Spencer and realizes that she may have judged him a bit harshly

Loved the banter between these two. The way they "evolved" their snark to be child appropriate.  They had me laughing, smiling, and yes even at times wanting to bang some sense into a certain someone(s). The sexual tension between them radiated off the pages. The author did a great job of making their story feel real, it evolved without feeling forced.
Enjoyed the everyone up in your business knew before you did small-town feel and the way they took care of their own. April's ex and his little band of merrymakers (family) just added to the storyline.
