📔 He’s a hired gun. A hardened killer. So how’d he end up bottle-feeding lambs for his best friend’s sister?
A best friend’s little sister opposites attract romantic comedy
🗬 Our Thoughts
"It's official. She's his dream girl. "Dante was just checking on his best friend's little sister - quick verify that she's okay, grab the evidence in the shed and he would be back on the road - In and Out an easy op.
Only he didn't count on the siren that awoke his domestic side nor the driving need to protect her
Someone is messing with her and he intends to find out who
Jen had made some bad choices and now they were coming back on her
She was facing an ex who wanted half (they were never even married), a greedy corporation, and a whole slew of problems she wanted to blame on coincidence
Jen was tired and desperate -
In one of those blind reaching for a lifeline moments, she said something that felt innocent at the time -
Sure her new hire couldn't hear her white lie
But The way he stepped up for her?
That kiss?
What has she gotten herself into?
I could not tell you all the reasons why this series is a five star for me but here are a few
It has humor,
Some seriously off-kilter heroes,
Strong-willed heroines
and it is just plain a whole lot of steamy, action-packed fun

The Blade from the Barrow by Timothy J.R. Rains
I read this like it was water and I was fresh from a week in the desert. I devoured it then found myself slowing down at a scene or event. Then repeated the cycle.
The characters are well crafted and I easily found myself loathing or loving them. At times I would have liked a bit more familial/background details - how they connected, why their bonds were so strong, little things (I am a detail person)
The world-building was spot on - I felt like I was there - could hear the blades sound as they swished or feel the heat emanating from the beast
The story(s) is fast-paced and action-packed
Great retelling of the myth
Hervor, our main character is on a quest to acquire Tyrfing - a sword that is her birthright. And when she says nothing in Hel will stop her from acquiring it - she is not joking. I disliked Hervor with a passion - It is possible she will "evolve" as she gets older but at the moment she is a selfish child with narcissistic tendencies, a short temper, and no common sense who needs to be knocked down a notch or two - Currently that is not even in the cards
Prince Sigurd's tale of friendship with King Gunther and his quest to "right" his wrongs against the king run concurrently with Hervors journey
Though there is more behind the trial given by his old friend Gunther
The multiple tales eventually converge
The Blade from the Barrow by Timothy J.R. Rains
📔 Hel herself won’t stand in her way ...
Hervor has been lied to her entire life. All along she thought she was a daughter of the proudest lineage. In truth, her father was the most reviled scoundrel on the face of Midgard.

Savage Kiss by Elena M. Reyes
This has all kinds of crimson-colored moments interspersed with some of the hottest of hades moments - these two are combustible together ❤️
Silas gave her space, he had his reasons, but the time for games is over.
He wants her back and he's never letting go again
She's all grown up and Ohhh how our girl shines ✨️
She's done playing the victim to twisted truths.
She's back where she belongs and she is dispensing vengeance like the goddess (or the queen) she was always meant to be
I got the chance to read Savage Kiss by Elena M Reyes before release day

📔 I want to eat her alive. Consume and gorge myself on what’s been denied to me for so long.
My bunny will never leave me again
SAVAGE KISS is a spin-off from the Beautiful Sinner Series!

Wait for Always by K.A. Linde
I was still able to follow the story and characters with ease
I will, however, definitely be going back to the beginning
Such a fabulous cast - Relatable - Down to earth with a few oddities (but that just makes them that much more loveable)
An engaging story that held me captive from that first "no" to the final HEA
Amelia and Ash never seem to be on the same timeline
Always missing that perfect moment
All her life Amelia has had eyes for Ash and him for her
But things just never seemed to be right place right time
Until it was
When life does finally give them a chance will they take it?
Or will the past keep them forever in the friend zone?
We spend most of our time in the present with flashbacks to the past
Really enjoyed how tenacious Ash was - If he hadn't worn Amelia down I don't know if she would have taken that last chance with him
And once Ash had her consent - He wasn't letting go
No matter who or what tried to get in the way
Amelia was a bit shy about taking that last step -
She had been through some pretty icky past relationships (speaking of I hope he finds a sinkhole)
that may have skewed her confidence just a touch
But her feelings for Ash had never wavered -
She just needed that final push to make the leap
Solid slightly angsty, smoking smexy, second, third chance romance full of characters that will stay with you long after you close that final page

Oracle of Life by Katherine D. Graham
as well as looking into some of her previous works
The author sort of dumps the reader into a completely chaotic mess
that leaves us asking all kinds of questions.
Don't worry though it does slowly begin to make sense.
Each page turn introduces us to a new character or supporting events
that slowly bring the story into focus.
I will admit I fought my inner child multiple times to keep her from peeking ahead -
It is worth the wait for the surprises and revelations
From beginning to end this was fast-paced nonstop action
with unique characters and vivid world-building that brought the tale to life
A solid plot line that kept me engaged and wanting more
And the end? I did not see that twist coming
Looking forward to the next in series

Her Viking Wolf: 50 Loving States, Colorado by Theodora Taylor
The way she brought the characters to life, the little nuances and quirks and I could visualize everything so clearly
I normally have trouble with female narrators but not here
Now onto our Viking
Little miss the world revolves around me did get my hackles up quite a few times. There is being strong and knowing what you want and then there is being self-focused to the detriment of those around you.
She spent seven years (I don't want to give spoilers here) knowing that it was not that kind of relationship, but hey it worked for her
a bit of a lie if you ask me ...
Don't fret though Chloe grows right along with her Viking
I can't in all fairness hold his behavior against him as it was the mindset for that period and he does learn to bend and give and woo. The sweetest smexiest wooing.
Once this snagged my attention I finished it in two days -
I admit it if I had read this it probably would have taken me a lot longer- Again I compliment the narrator on bringing the story to life allowing me to see Chloe from a different perspective (yeah it goes back to the world revolves around me thing)
A sweet time travel romance that has a bit of suspense, a bit of humor, and a whole lot of growth and will leave you smiling
I am excited to listen to the next in series
Oracle of Life by Katherine D. Graham
📔 First in a series: When exiled princess Nariah encounters the lords she’s seen in her visions for years, only her accursed gift of Sight can help them take on three normally benevolent goddesses who now aim to destroy the world. But is she willing to save everyone who has wronged her?
