Be prepared to experience the full spectrum with Lily and Cedric
I was swinging from anger, outrage, and exasperation to hopeful and overheated 😶🌫️
I can't count the times I wanted to peak ahead, just to reassure myself, or wish I could reach in and knock some sense into or out of ;() someone
It would be hard to choose a favorite from this series as each episode is a five-star read but these two would be in my top five

This is from the Prospect's perspective -
A behind-the-scenes look at the university
How the human "cattle" and "pets" are raised, trained, and finally dispersed among the vamps and lycans
Yeah it's as dark as it sounds
"I don't want to play anymore"
Lily is a prospect something thousand - she is actually nameless beyond her number. Just another prospect being trained and judged for where/whom they will best serve
That was until Cedric...
Now she's facing a reality that she is far from prepared for
But if he's telling the truth
She's got nothing to lose
"ask me for anything else and it's yours. But please don't ask me for death"
Cedric may just be one of my favorites from this series
He's bored of living the easy way
No real challenges anymore -
Sure they have the occasional hunt but their prey is weak and lacks any real desire to live -
The fight is all but wiped from them
Until his Lily
"It would be a beautiful death. And We'd spend forever together in the afterlife."
Things get pretty messed up and Cedric may have placed his trust and Lily's life in the wrong hands
This gives the reader a better insight into how the humans are treated. How they are bent and warped into submission.
It also provides a better grasp of some of the immortal politics that are going on behind the scenes and who might be helping who when it comes to the insurrection
This does deal with some darker themes - human cattle, brainwashing, noncon, blood - lots of blood, etc...
So if that is not your cuppa you may want to pass

Seems our boy isn't the quiet one we thought
Really enjoy the direction his character is taking
A bit concerned about his feelings toward Luca while curious at the same time how that will play out
Lio is still the sweet killer we love and adore
Jax is getting more daring with his attacks - taking out not only Padrone's men but his own as well - he makes my skin crawl
Heed the trigger warnings -
this is a no holds or ducks given -
suspenseful action-packed organized crime -
hades level steam mm romance -
That delivers with a solid storyline and vivid cast

If you enjoy Brotherhood and Supernatural stories (yes that's a hint) then you will love this!!This was a new author for me and the prologue did scare me just a bit - but quite literally by the second paragraph in I was a goner (My family had to feed themselves while I was busy saving the world ;) )
The cast was colorful and authentic - Each one had a unique quirk that brought so much to the story's overall tone.
There was banter, occasional division in the ranks, lots of "Oops, my bad" moments, bonds of friendship, light angst, more laughter, action, more "oops my bad" moments, some smexual tension, more action, and plenty of moments when you will want to give Sam or Isabella a slight "life correction" for lack of a better term, but you will not be alone - those two are a handful
This is one of those reads I could rant about for days
Jade, Isabella, and Andrea are... well doing the best with what they have
Which admittedly is pretty booty-kicking good
They thought they knew what was up and how to get around the rules
That was until their world collided with them -
Nate, Sam, and Riley
Hunters who know how their gifts work and have the magic and knowledge from years of generational experience to back them up
Their first meeting was a bit cold (a story here)
The second didn't go so swimmingly well either (an oops moment)
But now?
Things are about to go from bad to absolute f u b a r
Again - Do Not Pass this one up! I promise you pages of action, suspense, laughter
Characters that will endear themselves to you from the first page to the last
Am looking forward to another adventure with this crew

High Impact by Freya Barker📔 High Mountain Tracker, Bo Rivera, tries hard never to repeat his mistakes. A huge one changed the course of his life and made him particularly cautious, especially around women. So much so, he almost passed up on the best thing to ever walk into his life; the compact, blonde ballbuster in need of a gentle hand.

This is my first time reading this author - Yep dropped right into the series with Bo and Lucy's story - I had no problem following alongLucy is a touch standoffish but Bo has a plan to whittle down her defenses
This had it all - angst, laughter, steamy smexy moments, suspense, and a couple of twists I didn't even see coming
I am going back to read the other books in this series
I enjoyed the warm feel to the story - hard to put into words
The family by choice, the small town intuit, every helping everybody
A great cast of characters woven into a solid storyline that left me feeling fulfilled yet wanting more

Imagine going to be thinking when you wake up you will begin your new job in a new town (planet here but potato patato)That is what happened to Ethan except it was two years later and on another planet
When he wakes to find his life completely f u b r 'd he puts a plan in motion that will allow him to get back home
Only things don't quite go as smoothly as he planned
I adored the cast, such a variance of personalities each lending a different perspective and strength to the overall storyline
Wonderful Worldbuilding
Easy to follow and well-developed storyline
Ethan was so sweet and down to earth. He didn't have all the confidence in his worth physically but when it came to his ability to manipulate numbers he was a force to be reckoned with.
He had been whittled down so much because of his weight but still, he took that chance
Ryder seemed his complete opposite. He was the picture of a man who had the world at his fingertips. Smexy, outgoing, and desired by all.
The problem for Ryder was that he was desired for all the wrong reasons. He was looking for his butterfly. The man who would see past all the decorative and see him
They both feel the draw and the chemistry is off the charts
But they are their own worst enemies when it comes to allowing the past to dictate the present
I am excited to spend more time with this cast and on Ore 5

This is a blend of Science Fiction and romance, not in the traditional sense though. More a physical connection with a budding emotional tie.Lucius has chosen Lillian to "serve" under him as his apprentice and yes that is in all ways. He chose her for her mind, and her ability with numbers, she is a prodigy that will get him what he wants - dominion
Lillian is a kick-arse heroine. For me, she made the story. She is young and has had her world stripped from her yet she does not give up. She faces and conquers things that would bring most to their knees. She is a warrior through and through with a heart that at times gets her in quite the predicaments.
Lucius is for all intents and purposes a selfish leader, but something in Lillian does call to his softer side - whether he admits it or not
The story goes back and forth between characters as well as past and current events, laws, the battles that crafted them, and various characters that are all small bricks building the foundation of the universe in which the Cartel takes place
I admit I almost started a flow chart - however, after book one it makes sense and most of it clicked into place quite easily as I ventured forward
As the series progresses things just get more twisted and I question multiple times if my friend was my enemy and vice versa
The OMG and WTH moments just kept coming
Definitely does not lack suspense and intensity
Jam-packed with action, suspense, mystery, and a lot of smexy moments
I had trouble putting this down - I did find myself skimming through some of their more intimate moments - it was not that they were lacking I was just wanting to get to the other physical activities and solve the problems
I am working my way through the series and will update as I go
