This picks up where the previous one left off

Things went all f u b a r in book one and Marsh was left feeling like he failed Levi and David. Not trusting anyone with their lives he took them both to the one place he knew he could keep them safe

I do not want to give any spoilers so if you haven't read the first book read at your own risk

Levi is starting to fall for his "husband" and Marsh is already a goner.

However, both are a bit gun shy when it comes to matters of the heart making things between them twice as crazy

There was a lot more of them finding their footing and acknowledging the feelings between them in this episode - *sigh* from fake to forever

I enjoyed that they talked things out - yeah sometimes it took a day of stewing but they got there

I also enjoyed David and how he brought balance to all the chaos -

he is such a great kid

As for the investigation, things are still spiraling but our tenacious team is on it. (I hope we get stories for some of them, anyway back to spiraling) the group has to prove K is innocent, find the links to connect the chess boards, follow the money, stay off everyone's radar (good and bad guys), and stay alive - asking a lot but they can do this

This has plenty of action and police procedural going on.

Family, lots of family, both blood and chosen.

Betrayals.

Suspense.

Romance.

Humor.

Just the perfect recipe for a must-read that you will return to again and again

This does end on a pretty good twist
