I do not want to give away spoilers so I am going to be a touch vague
Munroe knows that Kereny is his mate - or he thinks he does - at times with Kerney's passive/aggressive responses to him even I questioned if his Mate compass was a bit off - but never fear someone knew what they were doing when they hooked these two up
Even if they are separated by a few hundred years or so
This is packed with action, drama, really really bad guys, betrayals that are not always betrayals and some that are, lots of humor, some smoking hot smexy moments, denial, more humor, a lot more denial, and a few "HOLY CRISPY CRACKERS" moments that I did not see coming
I was hooked from the beginning. The story flowed at a tempo that was just shy of "cardio" according to my Fitbit - lol - There were some moments that allowed me to catch my breath while others had me screaming and my children looking at me as though I should be wearing a white coat
I own this entire series in paperback and just recently started listening (audio format) to it from the beginning - So I might be just a touch attached and protective of the characters

I adored Clay - he was this giant marshmallow of a man while at the same time he was solid, protective, a straight shooter
Dylan was more demanding than I normally like in my heroines but life made her that way
She and Clay fit each other perfectly - He was there to smooth her rough edges and she gave him a bit of direction as well as something precious to care for
Her heart ❤️
I laughed
I worried (a little angsty suspense)
Overall just had a really good time
Looking forward to the next in series

Even with all the unknowns
I was enthralled from the first page to the last
The world-building was mystical
The characters were flawed yet bewitching
The story itself was memorizing - a lot is going on and I felt the introductions and transitions flowed quite well for the chaos that was occurring
Small bits and pieces of information and possibilities were carefully placed crafting a substantial foundation for the series
It wasn't a romance in the normal sense
It was a bendy zaggy journey that I wanted more of
Cast:
Wings, Talia, Little Fighter, The future - many names all the same determined heroine
Grim the protector - though we know there is more to Death
Tatiana the ever calm ever vigilant older sister
Bronik the angel - friend or foe?
Valefar - the demon not sure which side he is on either though I enjoyed his dark humor
Patrick the martyr
John the Alpha wolf
Tanya the soft-hearted sister
Viper the dark king
And the queen whose ego is bigger than the crystal castle
An engaging and exciting first in series
With a solid foundation for future books
Great characters
Unique world-building with plenty of action, suspense, adventure, tension, angst, light but steamy romance, and all kinds of misdirection, romantic tensions, and future possibilities
Looking forward to returning the Crystal Castle

a solid storyline with a fast pace packed with an enjoyably eccentric cast
I did have a little teeny tiny problem with some over-descriptive dialogue here and there which was why I docked a star
Still greatly enjoyed the adventure
